UPDATED TRAIL GUIDELINES TO ENSURE SOCIAL DISTANCING

April 7, 2020 by Steve Hoffman

As we continue to monitor visitation and adherence to social distancing requirements on the South side trails, additional measures to protect visitors, staff, and the community will be implemented, effective immediately:

—When trailhead parking lots are full, visitors are asked to come back another time. (See available parking lots on the map, below.) Before traveling to the Park, please be aware that wait time for parking may increase as the weather gets nicer.

—The Music Barn area and Parking Lot are now CLOSED to prevent groups from gathering in the yard.

—Vehicles blocking any entrance gate on the North side of the Park may be towed. Visitors should not enter through these gates on foot.

—Please consider the distance you are traveling to reach the Park. Traveling outside your local community could unintentionally increase the spread of COVID-19 into nearby communities.

With limited essential staff onsite, we need your help to self-regulate and abide by these guidelines. Thank you for using the trails responsibility so that we can continue to provide this valuable resource for the community.

In addition, please continue to follow our original guidelines:
–Be diligent about following the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommended social distancing guidelines of at least 6 feet from other persons at all times.
–Do not visit if you are exhibiting symptoms or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19.
–Plan ahead: All facilities, including restrooms, will be closed. Bring your own water. Wear appropriate footwear for muddy trails.
–“Pack it in, pack it out” – All trash cans have been removed.
–Follow the CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to visiting.
–Safely share the trail and warn other users of your presence and as you pass.
