In January 2015, the University of Illinois Board of Trustees approved the Allerton Park Master Plan. The planning process, facilitated by RATIO Architects, occurred over one year, and included three public meetings, numerous stakeholder meetings, and University input. All of the findings and recommendations were organized and presented in a final 125-page document, and will be further researched and implemented over the next 20-30 years. This Plan inspires a vision for conservation, appreciation, engagement, and development of Allerton’s physical property.
Phase 1 of the Plan focused on becoming more welcoming and accessible, achieved through additional engagement events, the addition of a Café, and construction of a new drive and ADA walkway to the Mansion. Phase 2 includes additional accessibility improvements, as well as enhancing and utilizing features that already exist to continue to serve as a public resource and ensure financial security.
Our Strategic Plan, “ALL IN for 2024”, outlines specific goals and implementation throughout our Facilities & Grounds, Public Engagement, and Operations. View Part One (2018-2021) of the Strategic Plan here.
