The Mansion

The former home of artist and philanthropist Robert Allerton was completed in 1900. Today, the Mansion houses 17 guest rooms with a variety of configurations and antique furnishings, as well as five common area spaces and a basement rec room.

The House in the Woods

The House in the Woods, built in 1917 to house Robert Allerton’s gardening staff, is tucked into a secluded alcove in the Park. Located a half-mile from the Mansion, the eight guest rooms allow you to surround yourself with the quiet of nature.

The Gate House

Originally built in 1902 as the head gardener’s residence, the Gate House has six guest rooms, including a large triple room that is perfect for families. The Gate House is located just steps away from the Mansion down a lighted walkway.

The Evergreen Lodge

The Evergreen Lodge was built by the University of Illinois in the late 1960s to meet the increased need for accommodations at Allerton. The 10 rustic guest rooms provide easy access to the Mansion and Formal Gardens.

Located across from the Visitor Center and Greenhouse Cafe, this Robert Allerton original building has been restored to serve as lodging for artists, naturalists, and other guests. The building is furnished with two queen beds, a separate living and dining space, and a kitchenette including a microwave, toaster, hot plate, full-size refrigerator, and sink. The second-story building is equipped with a chair lift and roll-in shower for accessibility.

A two-night minimum is required.
