The Farms: The Market

Get ready for the first-ever Folk School vendor fair, The Market from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4 in the Mansion. Part of the inaugural Bluebell Festival: A Folk School Fundraiser, this event will feature instructors from The Farms: An Allerton Folk School selling their wares and sharing information about their craft. Find the list of vendors here.

In addition, some of the instructors will show off their skill through informal demonstrations in weaving, beaded jewelry, live drawing, and a talk on using herbs and flowers in handmade soap.

The Market will be part of a great weekend that will feature live music, a cash bar, the Plant Sale and food trucks, so come and hang out with us a while. Join us for a day of culture and community and learn more about opportunities to get involved with The Farms.

No registration is required. Donations can be made online here or in boxes at the Plant Sale, The Market, and throughout the Park. Your donation will support The Farms’ vision of “creating a community through experiential learning, storytelling, and accessible creative expressions in a restorative environment.”

If you will need disability-related accommodations to participate, please email Olivia Bunting at owarren@illinois.edu.

Complete your visit with an overnight stay in the Mansion or one of our guesthouses at a discounted rate ($110/night + tax) as part of our Weekend Wind Down. View rooms here and register online or by calling 217-333-3287.
