The Farms: Soil Blocking for Seed Starting

Join Dana Pratt as she shares her knowledge as a flower farmer on how to use soil blocks at Soil Blocking for Seed Starting from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2 in the Greenhouse Auditorium.

Dana will demonstrate how to start seeds without using extra plastic containers, as well as how to start seeds in large quantities but with small space requirements.

$30/person. Register here by Feb. 10. All sales are final.

About the Instructor

Dana is a flower farmer from DeLand and grows flowers to give away. She has gone to online flower school (through The Gardener’s Workshop) and uses soil blocking to grow vegetables and flowers.

Dana is also an Allerton volunteer. She often works with the kids and flowers at the Champaign Boys & Girls club – where her husband works.
