About the Instructor
Ava Porter is the Education and Programs director at the Village Garden Shoppe in Mahomet, IL. She loves to teach people about the beauty of nature and how to connect with creation through art. When she’s not weaving together her careers as a zookeeper, florist, instructor, and college student, she can be found sipping tea with her parakeet, watercoloring or out swing dancing. Besides ever expanding her knowledge of flowers, she has also learned as much as she could about birds in her 20 years on this earth. She is ecstatic to be teaching a floriography class at The Farms this season.
About The Farms
The Farms: An Allerton Folk School, offers classes, workshops, and gatherings focusing on art, outdoor education, science, storytelling, and wellness. All experiences value hands-on, experiential teaching and learning, and are facilitated by and for the members of the community.
