The Farms: Fall Market Vendors

Enjoy shopping and connecting with these local fiber artists and Farms instructors during The Farms: Fall Market on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Music Barn.

Registration is not required unless indicated.

Fire the Tiles/Charlie Rainbow Wolf
Creator of knitted Aran cables, fair aisle patterns, fisherman’s ganseys and more
Demo: Various knitting techniques
Your Turn: Bring your own yarn and needles and work with Charlie at her table. There will also be yarn and needles available

Gaye Grant
Textile/mixed media artist of 3D vessels, wall pieces, wearable art
Demo: View projects being made at her booth

High in Fiber Rugs/Brittany Heyen
Sources primarily secondhand yarn, saving scraps for future use and thrifting items to upsale
Demo: View various rug projects, along with hands-on tufting lessons, contributing to a collaborative rug
Your Turn: Stop by the booth and get a brief, hands-on tufting lesson and contribute to a collaborative rug using the yarn of your choosing

A leading craft store in Clinton, specializing in their own line of hand dyed yarns which will be for sale, along with some other items from Leading Men Fiber Arts

*Your Turn: Fabric Collage workshops at 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Learn about the art and to create your own small fabric collage. $5/person. Register here

Heritage art made by weaving, twisting and braiding threads hanging on bobbins
Demo: The art of bobbinlace and other sewing techniques
Your Turn: Practice pillows will be set up so you can work on stitching methods you learn at Robin’s booth

Sujata Dey-Koontz
Mehndi and the art of Mandala creating, an ancient practice of intuitive expression to calm the mind and spirit
Demo: Sujata will demonstrate how to freehand paint and, weather permitting, have Mehndi paste and patterns to demonstrate the creative process.
*Your Turn: Henna workshops at 11 a.m. (pre-registration required). Learn the art of henna through various designs and expressions. $20/person. Register here

Sundrop Alpacas/Stephanie Block
Alpaca farm located near Bement
Demo: Needlefelting demonstrations
*Your Turn: Needlefelt Workshops at 12 or 2 p.m. These 45-minute workshops will focus on creating a basic needlefelt ball that is the starting point for many needlefelt projects. $10/person. Register here

The Farms: An Allerton Folk School
Offers classes, workshops, retreats, and gatherings focusing on art, outdoor education, science, storytelling, and wellness
Your Turn:
Try a fiber craft on your own. We will provide yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks and other supplies — along with instructions — for you to try something new!
