Allerton Park and Retreat Center has a limited number of power chairs available for those with limited mobility. The chairs must be reserved 48 hours in advance. To ensure the power chair you would like to borrow is available, please request it as far in advance as possible.
Currently there are three power chairs available (click on the links for more info and photos):
— Afikim Scooter Single Seat
— Afikim Scooter Wide Seat
— Zoom Uphill Power Chair and helmet
Power chairs are available to those 16+ years of age, and a photo ID and credit card are required, which will be held for the duration of the reservation. Arrive early for your time, as the checkout process (including mandatory liability waiver) will take 15 to 20 minutes. The user is responsible for any damage or loss of power chairs. Reservations are for two hours each (unless requested otherwise) and can be scheduled for Wednesday through Sunday starting at 10 a.m. and the last appointment time at 2 p.m.
