Courtyard/Mansion Entrance

The inconspicuous Mansion entrance is often confusing to guests, as it doesn’t have the grandeur that you would typically find on a house of this era. (Walk around towards the Reflecting Pond for a more grand view!) To your left, you will notice the original entrance to the Carriage House, which would have housed Robert’s horses before he acquired his first automobile in 1907. After that, he connected the Carriage House to the main house with the Marble Hallway, where guests now enter the Mansion.
