Create personalized, one-of-a-kind cards to send to your friends and loved ones during the holiday season at Mixed Media Holiday Cards on Tuesday, December 8 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Studio.
Instructor Vivian Krishnan will teach various mixed media techniques including watercolor, ink, collage, and hand stitching with paper. Seasonal still-life objects will be displayed for inspiration.
$60/person*. Register here. Registration closes December 3 or when capacity is reached. All sales are final.
*Students should bring a smock, apron, or clothes they don’t mind getting a little messy. Students are encouraged to bring meaningful pictures, special paper, or other collage or art materials they would like to experiment with.

About the Instructor
Vivian Krishnan is an artist and art advocate with works that cross the vast stage of storytelling, from designing costumes for theatrical characters to writing and illustrating diverse children’s stories. Vivian’s focus is creating accessible work and centering stories of minoritized people. She approaches subjects regarding mixed-race identity, colonization of the Global South, sustainability in art and the environment, all while reclaiming ancestral craft through costumes, textiles, and printmaking.
Vivian is passionate about exploring the ways in which we share information with each other and questions ideas that surround accessibility in art, connection, and healing in a creative and sustainable way. Allerton is one of Vivian’s favorite places to instruct art classes and finds both the grounds and the historic sites energizing for art making!
About the Farms
The Farms: An Allerton Folk School, offers classes, workshops, and gatherings focusing on art, outdoor education, science, storytelling, and wellness. All experiences value hands-on, experiential teaching and learning, and are facilitated by and for the members of the community.
