Marjorie and Frank MacFarlane Artisan Village Dedication & Village Hall Groundbreaking
Celebrate the future of Allerton at the Marjorie and Frank MacFarlane Artisan Village Dedication & Village Hall Groundbreaking on Wednesday, September 23 from 2-5 p.m.* in the Studio and outside. (Park in the Visitor Center Lot.)

This historic moment comes after last year’s lead gift from Joan and Peter Hood, who named the campus of The Farms: An Allerton Folk School in honor of Joan’s parents, Marjorie and Frank MacFarlane (pictured right). The Hoods’ generous endowment will provide consistent funds to keep the folk school operating for years to come by supporting public programming and educational outreach.
The MacFarlane Artisan Village (MAV) already hosts many Farms courses in the Studio and provides lodging for artists in the Residence, both Robert Allerton original buildings that have been renovated. With the groundbreaking, construction will commence on the Village Hall, which will include two classrooms and public restrooms.
Please join us to thank the Hoods and celebrate the beginning of this creative, communal space where Allerton’s folk school will thrive!

3 p.m.: Remarks + Groundbreaking
