Outdoor events may be reserved in one of the following 3-hour time slots:
9AM–12PM | 1–4PM | 5–8PM

Because others may be using the same area on the same day, all activities (including photography and decorating) must begin and end within the rental period. If an event requires more than 3 hours, an additional 3-hour time slot must be reserved. All outdoor events in the gardens at Allerton must end by 8PM unless prior approval is granted.

Tents are not allowed in any of the Formal Garden areas. The most popular places for tents are the Bowling Lawn just outside of the Mansion and the Meadow. There is an additional fee for tent rentals.

Garden Rental Includes:
Site rental for designated day and time
On-site assistance during your rehearsal and the day of your ceremony
Use, set-up and tear-down of Allerton chairs
Complimentary on-site parking


The historic Allerton Mansion offers many beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for your ceremony and reception. Mansion rental includes the first floor of the mansion as well as the outdoor spaces directly adjacent to the building, so you have the freedom to choose where you want your event to be held. Accommodations are available for up to 150 people for a ceremony in the Grand Gallery or up to 250 people on the Bowling Lawn adjacent to the Mansion. Indoor wedding meals can be accommodated in The Mansion or if you prefer, outdoors under a formal tent on the Bowling Lawn. Our Sales Team will be glad to speak with you about maximum capacities for both of these options.

Mansion Rental Includes:
Exclusive use of the Allerton Mansion for the designated day and time
Discounted garden rental fee for ceremony
Assistance from Allerton staff during the planning of your event
On-site assistance the day of your event from our Catering Department staff
Complimentary on-site parking
Tables and chairs for dining
Floor length white or ivory table linens (specialty linens available for a nominal fee)
Table settings
All set-up and clean-up
Tables for guest book, gift table, and musicians
Tea light candles on guest tables
One complimentary overnight stay in the Bridal Suite for the bride and groom when a block of 15 guests rooms are booked
One hour complimentary use of Allerton’s six person golf cart with driver


Set amidst the beauty of an idyllic nine-acre historic farmstead, the converted two-story Dutch hay barn offers a rustic and charming atmosphere unlike others found in Central Illinois. The Allerton Barn with its exposed timbers and 30 foot ceiling seats up to 175 for wedding ceremonies, artistic performances and other events.

Because the Allerton Barn is not heated or air conditioned, it is only available for events seasonably between April and October. We have a limited catering menu at this site at this time.

Allerton’s Catering Department caters all indoor and outdoor weddings and special events held at Allerton. A variety of food and beverage options are available. Please ask us about a customized menu for your special event.

Our most popular options include cocktail and hors d’oeuvre receptions, buffet meals, dessert receptions, champagne brunches, and attendant luncheons. Our Catering Director will work closely with you to create the perfect menu for your event.
