Built around 1890, this post and beam construction barn is set on a concrete foundation. The gambrel roof, covered in metal roofing, tops walls that are sheathed in vertical board and baton. The east elevation is adorned with sliding barn doors topped by hayloft doors above. Primarily used for hay storage above and horse stables below, this barn is set amid the beauty of an idyllic nine-acre farmstead. Today, it is host to a variety of events – from weddings and concerts, to class reunions and summer camp. Its exposed timbers and 30-foot ceiling offers a rustic and charming atmosphere unlike others found in Central Illinois.
