Chickasaw author and scholar Dr. Kari Chew engages with “writer’s block” as an opportunity to attend more deeply to your project, and what it is about the current form of the project that is making it so hard to work. This framing interprets writer’s block as a chance to listen: as a place where our creativity and work is speaking back to us about what we want (and don’t want), and challenging us to imagine the form this writing needs to take. We’ll start by talking about our writing struggles, and try to learn from Dr. Kari Chew.
