DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the “shortest day of the year” at the Winter Solstice Bonfire on Monday\, December 21 from 5-9 p.m. in the Allerton Meadow! \nThe winter solstice marks the official beginning of winter and has been celebrated in a variety of ways for thousands of years\, traditionally honoring the imminent return of the sun and symbolizing new beginnings. \nIn addition to the bonfire (lit around 6 p.m.)\, take time to stroll through Holiday GLOW (boots recommended!) and warm up with a drink from the bar or meal from a food truck or the Greenhouse Café (limited menu). \nComplete your visit with an overnight stay in the Mansion or one of our guesthouses. View rooms and make your reservation online or by calling 217-333-3287. \n$10/vehicle\, payable upon arrival*. Cash only; exact change appreciated. \n*Please note that there may be a wait for entry into this popular event.
