The UI Jazz Faculty invite you to join them in this one-of-a-kind celebration of Dizzy Gillespie’s musical legacy. Enjoy the music of John Birks “Dizzy” Gillespie as we celebrate his 100th year of contributions to jazz through his compositions and performance. They will perform some of his more well known compositions including “A Night In Tunisia” and “Manteca”, in addition to performing music Dizzy was known to perform himself in a variety of instrumental settings throughout his long career, including “Bebop” and “Hothouse”.
