Winter Solstice Bonfire
Join us to celebrate the “shortest day of the year” at the Winter Solstice Bonfire on Sunday, December 21 from 5-9 p.m. in the Allerton Meadow! The winter solstice marks the official beginning of winter and has been celebrated in a variety of ways for thousands of years, traditionally honoring the imminent return of the sun and symbolizing new beginnings.
In addition to the bonfire (lit around 7 p.m.), take time to stroll through Holiday GLOW and warm up with a meal from a food truck and beverage from the bar.
If you will need disability-related accommodations to participate, please email Christina at clc@illinois.edu.
By attending, you consent to your image being used in Allerton marketing, social media and publications. Please alert the photographer or videographer if you do not want your image taken.
