Sunset Drive-In Movie Series: Akeelah and the Bee

An event for the whole family! Do you miss the movie-going experience? Meet us at the Music Barn for a sunset movie where you can snuggled up in the car with your favorite snacks! Our Drive-In movie series is the perfect evening activity featuring family-friendly films and the beautiful ambiance of the Allerton scenery.

Akeelah, an 11-year-old girl living in South Los Angeles, discovers she has a talent for spelling, which she hopes will take her to the National Spelling Bee. Despite her mother’s objections, Akeelah doesn’t give up on her goal but instead finds help through a mysterious teacher. Along with overwhelming support from her community, Akeelah might just have what it takes to make her dream come true!

The movie starts at 8:00pm, doors open at 7:15pm.

If you forget your snacks at home, no worries! Refreshments will be available for purchase. No outside alcohol permitted.
