Nashville Singer Songwriter Round
Hear the music of well-known songwriters, as well as the stories behind their compositions, at the Greenhouse Cafè’s Nashville Singer Songwriter Round Saturday, June 8 (12-4 p.m.) and Sunday, June 9 (1-4 p.m.) in the Meadow. This multiple-musician event is being organized by the cafè and Vinyl Archaeology Records.
Among the musicians taking part are Grammy Award-nominated Bobby Tomberlin and Tess Frizzell, the daughter of Shelly West and Allen Frizzell and the niece of country music star Lefty Frizzell.
Songwriting has been used for generations to tell stories of life, love and the hardships of living — and as a way to pass family histories. The songwriter round also has a long tradition that was developed and perfected in Nashville.
At this event, national and local songwriters will take turns singing and playing original music, prefaced with the story behind their songs.
Bring your lawn chair or blanket, grab some food and drink from the cafè (see menu here) and enjoy the tales told by these talented songwriters.
No reservation is required. $10/person suggested donation upon arrival.
