About the instructor
Al Wehrmann has lived his entire life in the Midwest — growing up in Naperville, attending school in Iowa and living in Champaign since 1977. He has long been interested in the natural world, preserving fleeting moments on film and now digitally. While many regard the Central Illinois landscape as boring, Al revels in the openness of the prairie and especially the grand vistas of the prairie skies.
As a member of the Allerton Park Photography Group, Wehrmann finds great enjoyment in capturing not only the daily and seasonal moods of the park’s flora, fauna and statuary; but also in allowing those moments to be appreciated by those who see his images.
Al is a past president of the Champaign County Camera Club and Chair of the Best-in-Show Photographic Print Competition held annual at Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana.
