Orange Trail Dedication
Join us to celebrate a gift from Ann and Charlie Helm at the Orange Trail Dedication on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. in the Fu Dog Garden (near the Orange Trailhead). The event will recognize the endowment from the Helms, which will ensure the popular trail is well-cared for in perpetuity by providing funding for trail improvements, invasive species management, and natural areas research.
There will be a brief program at 4 p.m. followed by a guided hike on the trail (approx. 3/4 of a mile), which includes the Bear and Man of the Stone Age and Gorilla Carrying Off a Stone Age Woman bronze statues, as well as successional and bottomland forest along the Sangamon River.
After the hike, come to the Mansion for a drink from our cash bar.
Free, but registration is appreciated here for planning purposes by Oct. 9.
If you will need disability-related accommodations to participate, please email Zak Jones at zajones@illinois.edu.
