The Farms: MELT for Gardeners
Experience Level: All levels
Learn how to ease your hand, shoulder, and back pain at MELT for Gardeners on Saturday, May 2 from 2:15-2:45 p.m. in the Mansion Carriage House.
Instructor Mary French will share information about a specialized self-care technique, MELT (Myofascial Energetic Length Technique), and how gardeners can use it to reduce stiffness, enhance mobility, and prevent injuries. Students will leave with the tools to target connective tissue dehydration and joint compression, focusing on repairing wear and tear from tasks like digging and pruning.
$5/person. Register here. Registration will close May 2 or when capacity is reached. All sales are final.
This workshop is part of The Farms Spring Market, featuring additional folk school instructors talking about and selling their creations. Learn more here.

About the Instructor
As a walker and runner with plantar fasciitis, Mary French received relief from the MELT Method and became a MELT instructor in 2014. She now shares her passion for the self-care method at various health events, including at Allerton.
“If hikers MELT their feet before hitting the trails, they will reduce their risk of injury and aches. Then MELTing afterwards will reduce the soreness from hiking.”
