DESCRIPTION:Experience Level: All skill levels (ages 13+) \nLearn how to ease your foot\, back\, or hip pain\, and hike without pain at MELT with Mary on Sundays\, Sept. 20\, Oct. 18\, Nov. 15\, or Dec. 20 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Mansion Library. \nInstructor Mary French will lead this introductory workshop to the MELT (Myofascial Energetic Length Technique) method\, a self-treatment system that uses soft rollers and balls to improve the body’s connective tissue\, nervous and lymphatic systems. \nStudents will use MELT soft balls and soft rollers as they learn simple techniques that can be done at home to remain active and healthy\, and help provide relief from low back pain\, arthritis\, bunions and plantar fasciitis \n$30/person*. Since that time\, she has expanded her range of classes to better serve the community. While she specializes in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow\, her most popular classes are Beginners Yoga\, Chair Yoga\, Kids classes\, Yin Yoga\, Restorative Yoga and Gentle Flow. \nShe teaches yoga classes through The Farms as well as providing free classes at Monticello Middle School and free breathwork at Monticello High School. She has also led classes at the local hospital and senior assisted facilities.

DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the “shortest day of the year” at the Winter Solstice Bonfire on Monday\, December 21 from 5-9 p.m. in the Allerton Meadow! \nAllerton hosted its first “Winter Solstice Walk” in 2017\, inviting participants to warm-up by a small campfire after a short hike. Since then\, the Solstice Bonfire has grown into one of our largest events\, welcoming thousands of people to celebrate the beginning of longer days as the earth tilts back towards the sun. \nThroughout history\, people have been celebrated the winter solstice in a variety of ways\, and we are honored to bring people together to continue this tradition. \nIn addition to the bonfire (lit around 6 p.m.)\, take time to stroll through Holiday GLOW (boots recommended!) and warm up with a drink from the bar or meal from a food truck or the Greenhouse Café (limited menu). \nComplete your visit with an overnight stay in the Mansion or one of our guesthouses. DESCRIPTION:Make memories this holiday season with a magical stroll through Holiday GLOW presented by U of I Community Credit Union from 5-9 p.m. on December 6-20\, 22-23\, and 26-31*! This visitor-favorite event invites guests of all ages to slow down during the holiday season as they take in fresh night air and enjoy the serene beauty of winter. \nThe one-mile path illuminates Allerton’s statues and gardens in a new way\, while featuring a variety of artwork by light artists from around the country. Please note portions of the path are not accessible\, and some areas can become slippery in snow. Boots are recommended. \nStay awhile! Food trucks\, a bar\, and campfires will be available Dec. 10-12 and 17-23. We have several events that coincide with GLOW hours\, including Holiday Showcase\, Holiday Mansion Tours\, the Winter Market\, Winter Solstice Bonfire\, and more! Find information on all of our holiday events here. \n$10/vehicle\, payable upon arrival; $50/bus. Exact change is appreciated.\nWhen the entrance is not staffed\, please pay online or use boxes throughout the walk for your entry fee.
