Her influences include Alphonse Mucha\, HR Geiger and the art of Northwest coastal Native Americans. As for honey\, she kept a single jar in the back of her kitchen cabinet for recipes. Today she is a master beekeeper who never eats sugar.\nMaggie received her first hive as a gift in 2008. By 2010\, she was enrolled in the Master Beekeeper course at the University of Florida. From there\, things happened quickly to turn her life around. In 2012\, she started teaching beekeeping for Parkland Community Education and today she is a beekeeping teacher\, honey judge\, mead maker and master beekeeper.\nShe has also participated in honeybee research at the University of Illinois and the USDA. \nAbout The Farms\nThe Farms: An Allerton Folk School\, offers classes\, workshops\, and gatherings focusing on art\, outdoor education\, science\, storytelling\, and wellness. Jason and his fiancée\, Macy McCall\, are raising 6 year old twins\, Harper and Harrison. Jason first melted glass when he took a glass bead-making class with his mom at age 17 in 2001. He hasn’t stopped melting since.\nIn 2007\, Jason graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in studio art with a focus in glassblowing. Since then\, he has created a style and method of building large\, on-site steel and glass sculptures using a mobile glass furnace he designed and built in his garage. Jason has done major installations for Heartland Community College in Bloomington\, IL\, Cornell Tech’s new campus in NYC and worked with many businesses and cities to create unique projects and live events. DESCRIPTION:Experience Level: Intermediate to Advanced (need to know how to knit and purl) \nLearn a unique knitting technique at Advanced Knitting Skills: Entrelac on Monday\, April 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. in The Studio. \nInstructor Charlie Rainbow Wolf will walk students through a basket-weave entrelac stitch\, which will enable them to create a knitted\, 3D geometric pattern. All sales are final. \n*Students should bring: \n— 2 balls of Lion Brand Wool-Ease worsted weight (#4) yearn or its equivalent are required. As for honey\, she kept a single jar in the back of her kitchen cabinet for recipes. Today she is a master beekeeper who never eats sugar. \nMaggie received her first hive as a gift in 2008. By 2010\, she was enrolled in the Master Beekeeper course at the University of Florida. From there\, things happened quickly to turn her life around. In 2012\, she started teaching beekeeping for Parkland Community Education and today she is a beekeeping teacher\, honey judge\, mead maker and master beekeeper. \nShe has also participated in honeybee research at the University of Illinois and the USDA.

Guests will enjoy sipping a variety of tea\, as well as a glass of champagne (21+) or sparkling grape juice at their table while indulging delicious treats\, both sweet and savory.\nA bar will be available.\nAfternoon tea is a British food tradition of sitting down for an afternoon of tea and light food items. When it became fashionable in the early 19th century\, it helped fill the long gap between lunch and dinner\, the latter of which could be served as late as 8 p.m.\nSpring “Garden Party” attire is requested\, but not required.\n$50/person ($35/person 10 & under).
