Sold Out – January Owl Prowl

Join members from Champaign County Audubon Society and staff from Allerton Park on a night hike and owl search on January 25th! More owl species can be found in Central Illinois during the winter months, and for some owl species, winter marks the beginning of the breeding season. On this hike, we’ll have a very good chance of hearing and seeing great-horned owls and barred owls, but we’ll also be searching for visitors such as long-eared owls and northern saw whet owls. Proceeds from this hike will be used to purchase birding books for Allerton Public Library and Champaign Public Library. Registration is required and space will be limited to 30 participants.  Please dress for appropriate weather.

Since the proceeds for this hike will be immediately donated, the $5 fee per person will be collected at the trail head before the hike. Meet in the Visitor Center!
