The Farms: Glassmaking Workshop

Experience Level: Beginner (Ages 7+)

Create your own glass art at a Glassmaking Workshop on on Saturday May 2 during a 20-30 minute time slot from 11am-5pm.

With guidance from Mack Glass, students will get to make their very own pendant, planter pick decoration, or marble to take home after this introductory workshop.

$40/person. Register here. Registration will close May 2 or when capacity is reached.All sales are final.

About the Instructor

Jason Mack has lives and works in Delavan, Wisconsin. Jason and his fiancée, Macy McCall, are raising 6 year old twins, Harper and Harrison. Jason first melted glass when he took a glass bead-making class with his mom at age 17 in 2001. He hasn’t stopped melting since.

In 2007, Jason graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in studio art with a focus in glassblowing. Since then, he has created a style and method of building large, on-site steel and glass sculptures using a mobile glass furnace he designed and built in his garage. Jason has done major installations for Heartland Community College in Bloomington, IL, Cornell Tech’s new campus in NYC and worked with many businesses and cities to create unique projects and live events. Mack Glass has received global recognition for building the World’s Tallest Glass Christmas Tree at Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay, WI every December since 2022.

The Farms: An Allerton Folk School, offers classes, workshops, and gatherings focusing on art, outdoor education, science, storytelling, and wellness. All experiences value hands-on, experiential teaching and learning, and are facilitated by and for the members of the community.
