Full Moon Hike

Enjoy a Full Moon Hike celebrating the ‘Beaver Moon’ at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, starting from the Lost Garden/McDonald Family Trails Parking Lot. Allerton Natural Areas Manager Alex Lourash will lead the hike along the McDonald Family Trails as we listen to the owls and enjoy the bright full moon.

The November full moon is known as the Beaver Moon, calling back to days when it was a signal to set traps before swamps froze, ensuring a good supply of furs for the winter. Another interpretation is that this is the time beavers are most active in preparation for winter.

Enjoy the hike on its own or add a beer to enjoy while you walk. This event is for participants 21 years of age and older.

$10/person, $20/person includes a beer with the hike. Register here by Nov. 25. All sales are final.
