Spring is just about to explode, but a few of the best wildflowers have already started! Meet at the McDonald Family Trails Parking Lot at 9am to hike the south side Sangamon River bluffs and see the great displays of bloodroot, snow trillium and hepatica. Head home with new knowledge about the best areas of the Park for a return trip in May when Allerton’s other spring ephemeral wildflowers will be in full bloom. Spring bird migration will also be heating up during this hike, so don’t forget your binoculars!
$5/person; this hike is limited to 25 people.
