Learn more about the prehistory and early history of the area at a special History Happy Hour: Before the Allertons on Tuesday\, April 14 from 5-6 p.m. in the Mansion Library.  \nArchaeologist Brian Adams will speak about the Native Americans and early settlers who lived on the land that is now Allerton and highlight the sites of archaeological significance within the Park’s borders. \nA cash bar will be available. \n$7/person. Register here. All sales are final. \nLearn more about the space where your course will take place here. If you will need disability-related accommodations in order to participate\, please email Sarah at sputman2@illinois.edu. \nBy attending\, you consent to your image being used in Allerton marketing\, social media and publications. Please alert the photographer or videographer if you do not want your image taken. \nAbout the instructor \nBrian Adams is a retired Associate Research Scientist in Archaeology at the Illinois State Archaeological Survey\, Prairie Research Institute. Brian has conducted archaeological research around the world and all over the state of Illinois\, including at Allerton Park. He is also active in local historic preservation efforts and has successfully nominated historic buildings for local landmark status as well as inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. \nAbout The Farms \nThe Farms: An Allerton Folk School\, offers classes\, workshops\, and gatherings focusing on art\, health & wellness\, history\, nature & outdoor education\, or science. All experiences value hands-on\, experiential teaching and learning\, and are facilitated by and for the members of the community. \nSee the complete Spring Session schedule here.
