SUMMARY:The Farms: Fix It! Picture Framing Basics
DESCRIPTION:Experience Level: BeginnerGive new life to an old picture frame at Fix It! Picture Framing Basics on Thursday\, Nov. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. in The Studio. \nInstructor Lou Ann Koebel will cover the basics of picture framing with store-bought mats and frames. This hands-on class will safely cover how to handle plate glass and use both hand and cordless drills as students work on a small framing project to take home. \n$55/person*. Register here. Registration will close Nov. 3 or when capacity is reached. All sales are final. \n*Students should bring: \n— Scratch awl (example here) \n— Side cutter pliers (example here) \n— 12-inch ruler or retractable measuring tape \n— Medium-size Phillips screwdriver \n— If possible\, a picture frame project to discuss\, a matt and hardware options \nLearn more about the space where your course will take place here. DESCRIPTION:Experience Level: Beginners\nJoin Allerton Natural Areas staff for Winter Bird Hikes on Fridays\, Nov. 7\, Dec. 5\, Jan. 2\, Feb. 6 & March 6 from 9 to 11 a.m. Meet in the Main Parking Lot. If the starting location changes\, participants will receive an email the day before. New location information will also be posted on the Allerton Park Bird Club Facebook page.\nIn the winter months the Park is home to six species of woodpeckers\, four species of owls and a long list of other hardy winter species. This time of year is a great time to start learning about our local bird species!\nA limited number of binoculars will be available on a first-come basis. At times the hikes will leave the trails\, so dress accordingly.\n$10/person. Register here. Hikes are free for Allerton Bird Club members. Join the Bird Club here. All sales are final.
