August Supper Club — Chefs Doug Houge and Ian Nutting

Join us for the second dinner of our Allerton Supper Club series. This dinner features Chefs Doug Hodge and Ian Nutting. Doug and Ian started by slinging singularly unique hot sauces and condiments in 2021 as The Weird Meat Boyz, and then started serving elevated drinkin’ food out of the bar Collective Pour in 2022. Now they run a new fine dining establishment in Downtown Champaign: The Space.

Doug and Ian value sourcing their produce locally and work closely with Miky from Humbleweed Farm, a local Korean produce farm. Throughout this dinner you will hear from both the local farmer, as well as our Chefs about the ingredients and how they are incorporated into the cuisine.

Our speakers will share their experiences growing local produce and the highs and lows of starting their own farm in Central Illinois. You will also hear how incorporating local Korean produce has shaped and built Doug and Ian’s menus, businesses, and stylistic choices as chefs.

See all these local chefs have to offer with a special meal at Allerton on Saturday, Aug. 19. The evening begins with a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. (Supper Club members will have access at 6 p.m.), with the dinner served at 7 p.m. in the Allerton Library. There will also be a cash bar available that evening.
