Allerton Park Concert Series Presents: Steel City Jug Slammers

Enjoy live music, food, and fun this summer during our modified annual Concert Series presented by the U of I Community Credit Union! This year we are striving to provide the same lively, spirited, and entertaining Concert Series with a few updates to ensure the safety of our visitors. Experience a moment of “fun in the sun” on the Gate House Lawn as you safely relax, listening to tunes surrounded by the calm ambiance of the Park.

Join us for an evening of tunes from the Steel City Jug Slammers, a talented band paying homage to the sounds developed and recorded by the original jug bands of the 1920’s and 30’s. The Steel City Jug Slammers started in late 2012, taking influence from bands such as the Memphis Jug Band, Cannon’s Jug Stompers, the Louisville Jug Bands, and more, until the band eventually began to write songs of their own. Grab your blankets or lawn chairs and pick your perfect spot to sit back and take in the show.

Visit the Greenhouse Café, Just Bee Açaí, or Dave’s Dogs for a bite to eat. Or, bring a meal/snacks from home. A cash bar will also be available (no outside alcohol, please).

A donation of $5/person or $10/family is suggested, and will be collected at the gate. Or, make your gift here.

COVID-19 safety guidelines:
– Masks are required by ALL individuals if unable to maintain 6 feet from others
– Remember to keep 6 feet between you and other guests.
