DESCRIPTION:Experience Level: Beginner \nMake time for some moving meditation followed by a drink and conversation at Stretch ‘n Sip Yoga on selected Sundays on the Bowling Lawn: \n— Sunday\, July 19\, 11am-12pm\n— Sunday\, August 30\, 10-11am\n— Sunday\, September 13\, 10-11am\n— Sunday\, October 4\, 10-11am \nJosie with Yoga Off the Square will help you gently flow through a series of poses with the intention of being mindful of and reconnecting with your mind and body. Perfect for all levels\, this class will leave students feeling refreshed and at ease. \nThis event is open to all ages\, but you must be 21 to enjoy a drink after class. \n$15/person* for Stretch and Sip (Ages 21+*)\, $10/person for Stretch only. Please alert the photographer or videographer if you do not want your image taken. \n\nAbout the Instructor\nJosie Heck began teaching in 2014 after receiving her 200-hour training through Amara Yoga & Arts and Yoga Alliance. Over the last decade she has expanded the range of classes to better serve the community. While she specializes in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow the most popular classes are Beginners Yoga\, Chair Yoga\, Kids classes\, Yin Yoga\, Restorative Yoga\, and Gentle Flow. \nShe teaches Community Yoga and Full Moon classes through The Farms at Allerton Park and Retreat Center and provides free classes at Monticello Middle School and Monticello High School. Josie has also led classes at the local hospital and senior assisted facilities.

SUMMARY:Intermediate Watercolor
DESCRIPTION:Experience Level: Intermediate (Ages 15+; parents/guardians are not required to register with their children\, but all minors must have a parent/guardian on-site.) \nTake your watercolor skills to the next level at Intermediate Watercolor  Friday through Sunday\, Oct. 2-4 from 12-4 p.m. in The Studio. \nInstructor Deb Marett will lead this class tackling some of watercolor’s most rewarding challenges. Using photos of Allerton’s gardens as inspiration\, students will explore techniques for painting lush garden scenes\, creating glowing light subjects against dark backgrounds\, capturing fields of flowers without painting every bloom\, and simplifying complex landscapes into fresh\, expressive paintings.\nStudents will also cover some basic drawing skills and discuss tips for choosing a scene that will make for a successful painting. \n$170/person*. Register here. Registration closes Sept. 25 or when capacity is reached. All sales are final. \n*Students should bring:\n– Watercolor paint\n–  A flat palette/mixing tray large enough to work with several colors at once\n–  Brushes (flat and round\, one of the flats at least 1” wide (flat). DESCRIPTION:Experience Level: Beginner \nLearn printmaking processes at Lino Cuts & Prints on Sunday\, Oct. 4 from 1-6 p.m. in the Mansion Library. \nFor a very long time\, print-makers have transferred images from specially prepared plates to plants\, fabric\, wood and metal. Instructor Billie Theide will help students learn to design\, carve\, prepare ink and transfer images to make unique works of art. Each student will get a toolkit that will enable them to continue to work at home. \n$145/person. Register here. Theide is a metalsmith\, jeweler\, textile artist\, and ceramicist. Her work is in public art collections around the world including the Smithsonian\, Museum of Arts & Design in New York City\, Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City\, and the Racine Art Museum\, among others. She is the recipient of a Visual Arts Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and five Artists Fellowship Grants from the Illinois Arts Council. Theide has been recognized for her excellence in teaching and is a Distinguished Member and Past-President of the Society of North American Goldsmiths.
