Please alert the photographer or videographer if you do not want your image taken. \n\nAbout the Instructor\nJosie Heck began teaching in 2014 after receiving her 200-hour training through Amara Yoga & Arts and Yoga Alliance. Over the last decade she has expanded the range of classes to better serve the community. While she specializes in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow the most popular classes are Beginners Yoga\, Chair Yoga\, Kids classes\, Yin Yoga\, Restorative Yoga\, and Gentle Flow. \nShe teaches Community Yoga\, Stretch ‘n Sip and Full Moon classes thru The Farms at Allerton Park and Retreat Center as well as providing free classes at Monticello Middle School and Monticello High School. Josie has also led classes at the local hospital and senior-assisted facilities.

DESCRIPTION:Learn how to identify native forest trees of Illinois at Arboretum Tree ID Hikes at the Illinois Arboretum (1800 S. Lincoln Ave.\, Urbana). Meet in the Arboretum Parking Lot*. \nDates: \n\nTuesday\, August 25\, 9-11 a.m.\nTuesday\, September 22 from 12-2 p.m.\nSaturday\, October 10 from 9-11 a.m.\n\nNatural Areas Manager Nate Beccue will share identification characteristics including leaf types and arrangements\, bark patterns\, fruit\, growth form\, and other distinguishing features used to identify trees throughout the year. In addition to tree ID\, students will learn about the ecological importance of native tree species and explore their historical and modern uses. Topics will include the use of native trees in lumber and other wood products\, as well as culinary uses of tree fruits\, nuts\, sap\, and other edible resources. \n$10/person. Register here. Registration will close 1 day prior to hike. All sales are final. \n*Limited metered parking spots are available in the lot near the Noel Welcome Garden and along South Lincoln Avenue. DESCRIPTION:Experience Level: Beginner \nUnderstand what your subconscious mind is telling you while you sleep at Understanding Dreams on Tuesdays\, Aug. 18 and 25 from 6-8 p.m. in The Studio. \nLicensed Clinical Social Worker Julie Lauper will introduce students to the foundations of dream analysis and encourage students to explore how their dreams can deepen self-understanding\, creativity\, and emotional insight. By the end of this two-day class\, students will be able to understand how dreams are formed\, why certain symbols repeat\, and how personal experiences shape a dream’s meaning. \n$70/person. She also teaches at Richland Community College and Millikin University and loves working with kids and adults.
