The day will begin in the classroom with a lesson on basic plant vocabulary, but the majority of the day will be spent in the Allerton Natural Areas learning to identify trees in the woods. Participants will learn the identification of 50 different trees and shrubs native to local forests. Lunch will not be provided and all participants should bring a sack lunch. The majority of the day will be spent in the woods and off the trail; participants are encouraged to wear long pants and sturdy shoes. To register for this event please call (217)333-3287.
