Speaker Bio: I’m Amanda, a modern calligraphy teacher. I started my calligraphy journey in 2017 when I moved to Central IL from Southern California, but only started teaching in 2020 right before the pandemic started. I enjoy showing people that even if their only artistic experience has been playing Hangman, they can still do calligraphy. I love helping others learn how to write beautiful things and find relaxation through calligraphy.

Speaker Bio: Hi, I’m Jessica Trefzger and I own Maple Street Garden, which is on a quarter of an acre, located right in the heart of Mahomet, IL! My husband and I broke ground on our first garden here in 2016, just after the birth of our first daughter. It has grown, and changed, every year since and now has many archways, raised beds, trellises for vertical growing, a 6 foot strawberry tower and a greenhouse! I launched my business in March of 2020 with the intent to sell plants that we had germinated, and this quickly grew into having a market garden, starting multiple apiaries, a gourmet garlic patch, canning our own lab-tested recipes, creating handmade soaps, food-wraps, candles, and opening a shop in downtown Mahomet! As an aspiring urban homesteader, passionate about our earth, my goal is to share gained knowledge and experiences and to encourage everyone to explore where they fall on the spectrum of gardening! Meditation as a Pathway to Health and Wellbeing with Erin Murphy, Song of Life Healing
Who am I? What do I want? What is my purpose? What am I grateful for? These four grounding questions will start our journey inward. Participants will learn about the scientifically studied physical, mental, and emotional benefits of meditation, showing that taking 10-15 minutes for oneself daily in meditation is not only an act of self-love but also a sustainable act of self-care. Participants will learn how to set up a personal meditation practice as well as have an opportunity to participate in a guided meditation, led by Erin, a Chopra Primordial Sound Meditation Teacher.

Speaker Bio: Erin is a mom, literacy advocate, restorative agriculture farmer, sociologist, published author, cofounder of Sistering CU, meditator, and energy therapist. All of my projects align around the themes of healing and flourishing, for the community and for the individual.
