Allerton Park and Retreat Center is open every day from 8am – sunset. We hope you can safely utilize Allerton to find peace and inspiration during this challenging time. To support social distancing practices and limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Allerton has implemented the following precautions/guidelines:
–The Mansion is open for limited lodging and events. Find policies and procedures here. Call 217-333-3287 for availability.
—Public restrooms are available in the Visitor Center. All tables, chairs, and informational brochures have been removed to limit the amount of touchable surfaces.
–Bring your own water – water fountains and pet watering stations are not available.
–The Greenhouse Café is closed until further notice.
–Keep at least 6 feet between yourself and other visitors. If unable to do so, try a different garden/area. Please note that high traffic areas like the Peony Garden (mid-to-late May) could be busy – expect a wait time for viewing.
–Face masks are required in the Mansion and when not able to keep 6 feet from other persons outside.
–Please limit the surfaces you come into contact with, including sculptures.
–As of July 6, limited volunteer activities will resume. Find more information on volunteering here.
–Please be extra cautious when deciding whether to visit or traveling from a long distance. Stay home if you’re at all suspicious of being ill.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to serve the community as a resource to enjoy nature, history, and art.
