Community Outreach & Engagement

Binoculars – $20 each
Having plenty of binoculars on-hand would allow each day camp participant to have a set, and bird-watching visitors could also benefit.

Yoga Mats – $40 each
We currently rely on outside resources to provide yoga mats – for day camps as well as our popular Stretch & Sip yoga classes. It would improve the user-experience to have these on-hand.

Environmental Education Library Expansion – (varied cost)
This library includes books for Summer Day Campers, as well as books for staff so that they can create better, more well-informed programs. Contact Mindy Brand for the specific list of books requested.

Painting Easels – $128 each
Painting easels will allow us to expand Art Camp to include more advanced projects, especially important for older campers with more skill.

Summer Day Camp Scholarship – $135 per scholarship
Allerton Day Camps get children outside to discover art and nature through hands-on exploration! Your contribution will allow campers to learn about our natural environment through teamwork and creativity.

Cameras – $200 each
With cameras, we can expand our photography programming in day camps for older children and young adults. The Allerton Park Photography Group (APPG) will be a great resource to help teach kids how to use and manipulate the camera to get specific effects.

20’x20′ Event Tent – $2,600
Public events like the Concert Series, Family Campout, and Garden Party Fundraiser require a large rented tent. Investing in our own tent would ultimately save money by decreasing rental costs, and allow more flexibility in using the tent for events throughout the year!

Concert Sponsorship – $500-$10,0000
The Concert Series brings generations together under a star-filled sky to create a cultural experience with music and nature. By giving a concert sponsorship, you are providing resources to enable the community to continue to enjoy these unique events.

Prairie Sky Music Festival Sponsorship – $500-$10,000
The inaugural Prairie Sky Music Festival in August 2017 was Allerton’s first multi-day music festival. It brought big-name musical performances, craft vendors, local food, drinks, and camping to Allerton! Your sponsorship will help us continue this annual festival for years to come.

Volunteer Announcement Board – $1,500
Placed in the Visitor Center, this item would allow pictures, updates, volunteer opportunities and recognition, and available jobs.

To make a donation in support of a specific item, please specify the item(s) under “Special Instructions” when you make your gift online. Or, contact Mindy Brand at brand@illinois.edu or 217-333-3287.
