Attention Guests & Visitors
Archery-based deer management activities have ended for the season and will resume October 1, 2012 in remote woodland areas of the park. All trails remain open and safe for hikers to enjoy. As always, normal park rules apply: stay on marked trails, keep all pets leashed, and refrain from bicycling on unpaved areas.

Road Improvements - Beginning May 14, 2012
Preparation for the final phase for restoring Old Timber Road is underway. Beginning May 11, 2012 there will be no vehicle access to The Death of the Last Centaur, or The Sun Singer from Old Timber Road. Road grinding is slated to begin on May 14, 2012. Old Timber Road will be temporarily closed from the Sunken Garden to the West Entrance, which will also be closed. There will be no access to The Sunken Garden, The Death of the Last Centaur, or The Sun Singer from Old Timber Road—however, these sculptures can be accessed via the hiking trail system. In addition, the 4-H Camp will not be accessible from Old Timber Road, but arrangements can be made with 4-H Camp for access. As with all outdoor projects, these road improvements will be weather dependent. Closures are expected to last about 2 weeks.
Allerton Bridge & Old Levee Road
Allerton Bridge has been under construction since Fall 2011. The project included the removal of the existing bridge crossing of the Sangamon River which is complete. The new structure, currently under construction, will be a 24' wide, five span, 300' long structure. Old Levee Road will be improved each side of the new bridge from Allerton Road to Old Timber Road in Allerton Park. See Map Here Updates will be provided on the Allerton Bridge re-opening as the project nears completion.
