Bring your family and spend the weekend camping and exploring in the Allerton Natural Areas with wildlife biologists from the Illinois Natural History Survey, University of Illinois and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Help biologists catch, identify and release fish, birds, butterflies, mussels, dragonflies and more! See and try the newest camping gear and gadgets with our friends from Champaign Surplus and Kelty. Enjoy a grilled dinner followed by a live wildlife show by Natural History Education Company of the Midsouth and then relax by the campfire for stories and s’mores or go on a stargazing night hike led by the University of Illinois Astronomy Department. Sleep under the stars or bring a tent to camp in the Allerton meadow. In the morning sleep-in or get up early to help check wildlife traps, catch birds or stretch your legs on a biologist-led hike.

This event will be limited to 120 people. To register please call Allerton Park and Retreat Center at (217) 333-3287.
